Visual Haikus from Heaven on Earth
This personal project was born out of sheer fascination for some unusual plants during a visit to an unusual place. One can only begin to describe the wonders of Leh Ladakh, situated amongst the Himalayan ranges; bare, arid, flowing with the coldest clearest rivers, lined with patches of green.
From this colossal awesomeness, my experience with two local fruits stand out- the odd seabuckthorn bush (Leh Berry) which not even the grazing livestock glances at and the humble Leh apple, perhaps the best apple of my life. Who would've thought?
My brief, somewhat unjust summary of Ladakh entails a two part haiku and illustration about curious fruits, accompanied by photos of the river in relation to teeny tiny humans and to the vast natural landscape, seemingly unreal until you pay it a visit.
